The East Carolina Pirates came to Orlando to take on the UCF Knights Saturday evening. Some of the predictions were calling the game a 40somthing to 30somthing ECU victory and maybe it should have gone better for ECU but those were just predictions.  The reality of this game however was that ECU just couldn't pull it off even without having to deal with Dillion Gabriel. 

UCF beat ECU 20-16 even though they had the ball less, committed more fouls and just seemed to not being playing at the level that would have been necessary for more trips to the end-zone. J. Richardson rushed for 104 yards and Mark-Anthony Richards rushed for 58, sending both into the end zone.  Looking at the history of these teams, the Pirates are just going to have to wait a bit longer to best the Knights and it likely won't be at the Bounce House, if at all. The Knights haven't lost to ECU since Nov. of 2015 which now brings this matchup to 6-1 in favor of the Knight's.

ECU was so close to closing this one down with a win, leading through the first three quarters 13-10.  The fourth quarter really was the defining quarter of the game as the Knights held the Pirates to a field goal and then scored a 1yd touchdown with 23 seconds remaining in the game... ouch, that plunder some confidence from the Pirates.  Huston even addressed this position in his post game comments when he said, "It’s very similar or worse than the South Carolina game. You felt like you probably should’ve won the game. You made some mistakes, you didn’t capitalize on some really great drives early in the ball game. You’re going to look up and there’s going to be a dozen plays, where if you make one of them, you win the game."  prefaced with" You’re going to kick yourself tomorrow,".

Up next is the Memphis game.. Since 2018, this is has been Florida Sports Hub's favorite matchup of the year.  This year, the tigers have been having a bit of a rough go at things but we still can't count them out.  Stay tuned for more updates  and more details about our coverage of the space game Oct. 22nd at the Bounce House.
